Full course description
Aligned with Emory University’s Race and Ethnicity general education requirements, these modules provide nursing students with opportunities to consider how racial, ethnic, cultural dynamics, histories, and societal forces affect structural inequalities amongst individuals and communities. The school of nursing shares the common commitment to exploring the many ways that identities and group differences impact our world, health care delivery, and health outcomes. These educational materials are designed for pre-licensure and post-licensure nursing students.
The Inclusive Excellence and Social Justice Requirement (Nursing Students) course includes four modules:
- Historical Foundations of Racial Disparities
- Engagement with Diversity
- Communication for Inclusion
- The Influence of Unconscious Bias
